Rotor Removal

Can you damage the wheel bearing when pounding on an impact screwdriver to remove the screws in the rotor that fasten it to the hub?

I don't think so, but I'd just drill it out.

One more vote for the drill option.

I hit the impact driver with a 2 pound sledge hammer. Just make sure its on the screw straight. If you can't get it off then drilling it out sounds like a great option.

Jam your tire iron in between the studs to prevent the wheel from turning. Then get a phillips bit and hammer that into the screw. Then take a socket wrench with a bit that fits the phillips and turn. Works every time without compromising the screw.

doesnt anybody believe in pb blaster.. prior to starting.. makes things alot easier..
you might still need it, if you use an extractor. which essentially drill it out.
