will stock struts work fine with lowering springs? or is it necessary to put aftermarket struts?

Aftermarket springs will prematurely wear out stock shocks. Save yourself some labor and do it all at once.

GR2s are just OEM replacements. Therefore, they aren't worth buying in your situation.

op, depends what kind of springs they are (springs rate and ride height). There are some springs made for stock shocks, but chances are your stock shocks are so old that they are either already blow or on the verge.
