rep Mugen front bumper help!!!

Ok so I was having a replica mugen front bumper painted and installed on my car and the body shop guy called me and said the bumper fits fine on the car but when the fog light is in the turn signal wont fit in the space where it should.has anyone with a Duraflex bumper had this problem?he said a possible solution is to cut part of the back end of those pockets out and custom fab up some brackets to hold the turn signals in place but then it may not look right.so if anyone out there who has this bumper please please tell me whats going on so i can get my baby back

The replica mugen bumpers DO NOT have any mounting brackets for the fog lights or turn signals. You have to come up with your own solution for that.

I know that.he is going to custom make the mounting brackets but the turn signals apparently do not physically fit in the space while the fogs are in there so what am i to do?that is the problem

This is the reason i went for a lip kit ... If i cant find the real thing I rarely settle for replicas... so much hassle. I love the look of the mugen kit though

The turn signals have a tab that goes into a notch on the stock bumper and an authentic Mugen bumper. You simply need this notch for the turn signal to go in properly.

well i havent been to the shop to actually look at it but i doubt my body guy is so dumb he didnt know that he needed to cut out that hole for the tab but i hope thats all it needs.

I don't have a Duraflex, but I do have a replica Mugen bumper. It took a bit of work, some custom brackets, and I had to trim the turn signal housing a bit (I have the clear ones), but I did get them both to fit fine. I did not have to cut any of the pocket out of the bumper. The foglights are still adjustable and everything. You may need to experiment with how far in the bumper they sit. I ended up cutting slots for some of the mounting tabs so I could move things around a little bit. It is a tight fit but it will work.

oh yah thats right for both fog and turn light housings, i had to 'saw off' the mounting brackets, that was ***, for one of my turn signals i put oo much force and made a hole now there is moisture in that housing, but who cares i have a bumper that looks like a mugen bumper

Hey man, I'm the one you pm'd about the mugen replica bumper. I haven't gotten around to messing with the fog lights yet, still working on fitting the kit to the car just right. Work keeps giving me plenty of overtime lol. Sounds like you already figured it out anyways. Unless you buy the official mugen kit, there will be plenty of fabrication if you want it to match the car and get the full function out of it. Just expect to find more difficulties and labor when it comes down to the sides and rear add-ons. The front bumper was cake compared to the rest of the kit. Let us know how it works out and get some pics!!!
