Does anyone know how to remove that black strip thats right underneath the door windows. It got like a rubber surface but it metal underneath. Mine...the rubber it dried and cracked and comming off. I wanna take it off and paint it black UNLESS the rubber acts like a seal and doesn't allow water to slide off the window and into the door.
I'm not completely sure but i think you need to take off or loosen your side mirrors then you can safely pop them right off. They're just held on by clips.
They are really stuck in there and will probably get damaged when you pull them out. I damaged the one I pulled out but I had a replacement so it didn't matter. You don't need to remove the side mirrors, only a small part of the trim is hidden under them. The clips that hold the trim in (number 12) might break too, so you should consider ordering some new ones. One of mine fell in the door too, so I had to remove the door panel to get it.

In my link it looks like the clips come with the trim but I'm pretty sure they didn't come that way. Might have just been where I ordered them from (I don't think it was Majestic) or maybe I'm mistaken. But I'm positive I didn't have to remove the side view mirrors.

I didnt need to remove my mirrors either. The end of the molding slides underneath the mirror. I ordered mine from Majestic Honda and it came with the plastic clips on the back.
Having new moldings makes the car look so much better.
i taped everything around it off, sanded down the old crusty/cracked rubber and re-sprayed the bare metal with a heat flat black spray paint and they look brand new and will never crack again
I got new ones too and you do not need to take off the mirrors or door panel like many think. All you do is yank on them hard enough and they will pop up with some clips breaking but thats ok cause the new strips have new ones obviously....and getting new is an easier better looking and less time consuming way to fix these up....
