Redline MTL Tranny Fluid???

Our Honda Manual and the honda specs says use only Honda Transmission Fluid
--but I have heard that Redline MTL is a really good transmission fluid for all imports and all cars. However when I called a hop to change the fluid he said he would only put in the Honda fluid that was called for. I've heard that the Redline fluid is better but I am really really hesistant to do damage to my transmission. Has anyone used or does use this stuff in their transmission for their manual transmission???
--Does anyone know for sure and knowledeably if Redline is ok to use in the gearbox and has anyone ever actually used this?? What were the results? Thanks for the info.

My buddy has put Redline MTF in his 5-speed 5G and he said the difference is huge. It shifts much better especially when cold, and the dreaded gear grinding is gone, even on the coldest days.

My 'Lude is only 4,300Km, so I have whatever came with the car. It grinds pretty badly in the mornings, so I'll try Redline when I get to 10,000Km. Most people on the board only recommend the Honda MTF, so I'm not sure what to think...

i've tried redline and forced to switch back to honda MTF because i grinded 2nd often especially when it's cold. i should have known once i opened it because that stuff is very thick. it looked like it'd work really well in high temp. if it helps i live in california, and i always warm up my car, but problem didn't go away so now i am using honda's. i heard a lot of good things about redline, maybe i am the only one who had bad experience with it, so don't make a decision based on my case.

before the switch to Redline MTL, no grind.

after the switch, no grind. smooth engagement on very cold mornings, even smoother when tranny is warmed up.

*note* odo has 95,000 on it. MTL has been put in twice at 40,000 intervals.

There is a thread on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hondaprelude/ where users are recommending GM Synchromesh to cure the same tranny problems. Haven't tried it though
