Red Key verses T5 Keys, etc.

Ok,

So I'm getting ready to do the Auto to Manual swap.

If you replace your Auto ECU with a manual ECU, does your car have to be reprogrammed by Honda to work with your current set of keys?

Any one actually know? I know w0rdie was working on this...

(I've got my original Red Key, and a manual ECU on the way.)

Yes you will need your current immobilizer code "programmed" to the replacement ECU by Honda if you don't have your Red Key. Since you already have your Red key there should'nt be a preoblem. I'm running my auto ECU right now awiating better weather so i can have a Honda dealer "reprogram" my 5spd ECU. I don't have a Red Key.

im pretty sure that red key wont work, you gonna need to program your keys to the new ECU not reprogram the ECU to the keys. Take your car and show them the proof of purchase for the motor/ecu and they hopefully will program the keys to the new ECU.

As long as you have the key that matches the ECU, you will have no trouble.
