Rebuilding / Reconditioning leather seats

Hey guys,

I was hoping to get some insight on rebuilding and recondition the leather drivers seat. The guy that owned it before me was a heavier set guy and the seat bolster on the left hand side is pretty worn and feels broken or torn underneath. I would like to see about replacing a few panels and bringing the seat back to new.

Has anyone ever done this before? If you have, I would like to know where you get the materials, leather, and seat foam, etc...

I took mine to a local upholstery shop. They have some nearly identical leather to mine on hand so they made me a good deal. They replaced the panel on the outer (door side) seat back for about $100 and it looks perfect!

Yea seats are easy. Leather is a little bit harder, but still not too bad. If you can find one at a junk yard you can take the seat cover off (the leather part) and then just take the inside cushions you want and swap it out with yours. Just some hog rings you will have to cut, then replace. Super easy, just a little time consuming if you've never done it before.
