Rear Wheel Bearing - Louder After Car Sits?

I have a noise from the left rear that I think is the wheel bearing. It is loudest when I turn right but only really noticable after the car sits for a day or more. After a few miles of driving it quiets down a lot. Is this behavior consistent with being a dead or dying wheel bearing? I would've expected a more constant level of noise.

I was experiencing the exact same issue. I bought a new wheel bearing, and when I went to install it - I NOTICED THAT MY PARKINGBRAKE CABLE WAS RUBBING THE LIP OF MY LEFT REAR WHEEL. I still replaced the bearing anyway since it was a special order part, and would have cost at least $30 restocking fee to return it, and my car had 160,000+ miles on it.
