I wasn't too concerned about damaging the rotor, although we used a drill bit large enough that it made it impossible to ever replace the screws. But I wasn't too worried as I was replacing the hub obviously, and that was the more important piece. I ended up replacing the rotor as well due to excessive scoring, so it all worked out nice. Never bothered with those two Philips screws though (don't think they're necessary as the wheel and caliper hold the rotor in place anyway).

Agreed, the 2 phillips screws are not really needed, certainly more trouble than they are worth! Might just take mine back out now so I don't have to drill them later when I need to service/replace my rotor.

When you say "I removed the wheel hub bolt" I assume you mean the spindle nut? If so, putting the rotor back on the hub/bearing assembly will give you better leverage to remove the hub/bearing assembly from the spindle. Hope this helps, satwilson

its the bearings...

a constant noise that ressonates regardless of gear, and especially at highway speeds and changes loudness upon right and left swaying turns is Rear Wheel Bearings every time...

The noise is from changing the load on the bearing.

The noice is also generated by increased internal tolerances and wear upon the inside and outside bearing races and the rollers....

When in doubt, replace them both. That will Elimate the Bearing noise and make for a smooth quiet comfortable ride in the Prelude.

Timken makes 120% Quality parts. Ive used their bearings for years... top quality. Ebay 71 dollars each. free shipping. Hub and bearing assembly.

You will notice a difference with quality parts and low frictional coefficents!!!

Pretty much any vehicle with over 100 K Miles will need them. they are a time change part!
