Rear Toe adjustable on 01' SE?

Hello all, first time on this site... Last fall I took off my set of 4 AS Radials and put on my soft-as-cheese Falkens for the winter. The rear pair of whls I dismounted gave me a shock of a lifetime. Both were wearing excessively on inside (1 inch from edge)... (Bridgestone Potenza RE92) and the right rear had belt exposed also! I then proceeded to get a 4whl alignment not wishing this predicament on my cherished Falkens. The techs there told me Right rear toe measured 0.18" and specs supposed to read from 0 to 0.08". They said that Rear Toe can not be adjusted because of vehicle design. So what do I do now? I need to know what's causing this wear, so I decide to go to another garage - big name specializing in exhaust and suspension. I show them the diagnostic printout and they say for sure rear toe CAN be adjusted... He says he can't do anything until he orders a kit and says tie rod is much bigger in back than in front so he doubts it is tie rod...So who do I believe and what's me next step? - Frustrated. I feel like my rear wheels want to drive at 90 degrees soon if this keeps up.

Also last two weeks I notice that dreaded "chirping" sound coming under hood or near firewall while idling in neutral. When I depress clutch quarter to half an inch noise is gone. WHile driving, I cannot tell if chirping there - Falkens are too loud. Is this serious, or should i just buy a can of silicone lube spray, crawl under dash and give the cable a few squirts?

Take your car somewhere else to have it aligned. The rear toe is adjustable.

I have no idea what the chirping sound is.

What he said.

As for the chirping in neutral, that's your ThrowOut Bearing (TO bearing). It's time to replace it with another genuine Honda TO bearing.

Yep TO bearing. I've had two from ACT witht the same results.... NEVER again. LOL Honda only unless you don't mind the noise.

If you are only chewing up the insides of the tires it sounds like your camber is off too. Are you lowered?

Ignore the camber comment. Just fix your toe and post the alignment results.

The tire noise could be from the out of spec toe., or the tread is just noisy (a lot of tires are noisy from the tread design).

Confused Garage Tech...

Thanx to all who replied. I went back to garage where I had alignment done (a few months ago) last week and manager agreed they would look at it again free of charge.(Since he didn't notify me the results were off). Lesson: always insist on a diagnostic printout after the test. The tech there apologized and said he forgot to put the metal plates under right rear tire before alignment! Anyways, they showed me the numbers on the display during test, and all 4 wheels were within spec (-0.04" to 0.04" front toes and 0.00" to 0.08" rear toes). Readings were: 0.00" (left and right fronts toe), 0.05" left rear toe, and 0.06" Right rear toe. (I did jump a curb with the rear right wheel 2 years ago when wife and I on vac.) So, I guess those rear tie rods are alot more beefier and can take more abuse than the fronts. So now I figure maybe the wierd inside tire wear was caused by a combination of driving over those potty New Brunswick roads (Worse than swiss cheese) back in 2005 and also defective tires. It looks to me like the belts shifted. Both defective tires were serial #JJK2401 and good pair were serial #JJK5102 (4 Bridgestone Potenza RE92). Don't think I can say much to Mr. Bridgestone... (like David against Goliath) My next set will be Fuzion Vri. I heard they're excellent on wet pavement. However, I believe Bridgestone makes them as well together with Firestone... can't win...

Oh yeah - car is NOT lowered... so that is ruled out.

Also, is replacement of TO bearing only solution to the chirping? If i give her a shot of silicon lube spray up the clutch cable will that not help any?

You're wasting your time trying that method. If you go through the hassle of dropping the tranny case and getting to the TO bearing, you might as well replace it. It's only a $50 part.
