i replaced the 15 fuse under the steering wheel and under the hood but nothing seems to be happening. i reinstalled the cluster several times already and no progress is being made... the buls are not the issue, i think they're actually the cause of this whole problem........................................... ............................

thanks for the response.

Could be a short somewhere that you made worse by repetitively taking in and out. Sounds like somehow you aren't getting power to the gauges, and while I could be wrong, I believe the fuse for the lights vs gauges are not the same, however, they probably use the same harness. Which leads me to think its a harness problem rather than a fuse problem. But I am just thinking out loud, I have nothing to substantiate this.

no worries think aloud as much as you like, any input may prove useful in my situation. i think that if i cannot figure this out by the end of the day, i'll have to take my car to my mechanic to check it out. until then, keep these ideas flowing

just leave it as it is. it'll make driving more daring and a new excuse for the judge.

lol! i like your style haha unfortunately when officers ask "do you know how fast you were going?" and i reply "sorry i don't, look at my gauges" that probably won't get me out of a ticket

check the connections on the back of the cluster; one might be loose, re-check fuses to be sure, disconnect the battery before hand when dealing with electrical parts, other than that I dont really know what might be wrong except you must have busted the guages when tampering with them...

what can cause gauges to go dead? i've taken out and reinstalled my cluster several times and this is the first time it has stopped functioning. everything else on the cluster works, such as the seatbelt warning, turnsignals, and my CEL but its just the backlight of the gauges and the handbrake light has stopped working as well as the gauges themselves. is it possible to reset the entire electrical system in the car?

I really not an electrical technician but like the guy above me said, there might be a short somewhere in your cluster, since you said some of the lights work but then again your gauges and handbrake doesnt, your best bet is a short, go through every single fuse, and resetting the system?? i have no idea about that but you can remove both positive and negative terminals and let it set for a couple of minutes then attach them again....make sure on the wires on the back of the cluster is not pulled out of the terminal pins
