I was thinking about wiring my radar detecor into the area where the mirror and map lights are situated, There is 12v power there all the time, even when the ignition is in the off position, so I am thinking of rewiring and using one of the map light switches to act as a power on / off for the radar detector and the other map light switch to turn both the lamps on and off. I am also considering puting a quick disconnecter in the power cord to the radar, perhaps a small jack socket and locating the jack socket in the mirror assy.
Still researching, just wondered.
If anyone has already done something like this?

I have never done anything, due to no car, but I really do like the sound of it. Using the map light switches to turn it on and off. If you do do it, make sure you take some pics, cause it would be interesting to see how it turns out.
