A quick help with Washer pricing......

This is for SS owners who have done their own tranny fluid change....

I went over to my local HOnda dealer, Hayward and asked for 2 washers, one for the drain bolt and the other one for the tranny bolt washer......... and an oil filter.......

Filter came out to be freakin $6.50..... that is not really a biggie....

The drain bolt washer came out to be 33 cents..... no biggie either.....

But the tranny bolt washer..... that lil piece of tiny ass dingy washer..... came out to be $2.11!!

How the hell is that possible?

Did any of u pay that much for a damn washer for ur tranny?!?!

BTW, if any of u still have ur recipt, please check to see if this is the correct part # for the tranny bolt washer:

90471-PX4-000

Thanx.....

latez...........

well i dont know about the dealer, but on hparts.com, the tranny washer is $1.18, and the oil washer is $0.18. so based on your prices, the oil washer being about $0.20 more than hparts, i think $2.11 is the correct price (somewhat). It seems a lot because it is from the dealer, and things from the dealer are usually more expensive (i.e. labor ). hope that helps any

Thanx for the info...

Is it possible to get the tranny washer and the drain bolt washer at a local hardware store instead of the dealer?

I've always re-used them, put them on facing the same way they came off. If your deforming them, you tightening them too much.

not nessessarily a "hardware" store, but an auto store (pepboys, kragens autozone, etc). however, when i purchased a drain bolt for the oil for my friends 99 civic, it cost $3.99 so i just stocked up from hparts.com

but to answer your question, any auto place should carry them. just bring in the washer as an example or ask them to look it up for you by year and model. hope that helps
