Questions about WW RS kit install???

Ok i know this topic has been beaten to death and u dont want to hear about it anymore. I did a search already on it and found nothing useful. My questions are does anyone have pictures of the WW RS kit install?? I bought the kit brand new and going to put it on this spring. Just wondering if anyone had pics or know what the flap is on the front lip in the middle of it?? where does that screw to??? Also how do u use the L bracets on the side skirts?? The instructions that Wings West give u arent that good and detailed plus black and white. Finally i am already lowered and have a Greddy Extreme Power exhaust it is a huge can and already hangs low, i know it will touch the lip of the kit and melt it. The problem is i cant get hangers cause it is already low to the ground. I dont know if a shop can cut the lip or how much that will cost. Also anyone know of any good and not so expensive driveway pavers in CT??? I wont be able to make it into my driveway so i have to get it redone. Thanks

Are you sure the kit touches the exhaust? People told me my RS kit would touch my Thermal and I put the lip up to the car and I don't think it will be an issue. It wasn't touching, but a little close.

Just have whoever paints the kit install it. The install itself is cheap and they'll do it right the first time if you go to a good shop. Just a suggestion.

yeah body kits and painting them is the only thing i would suggest taking to the professionals as unless you have your own body shop/paint booth i wouldnt attempt the install. but if you want hey go ahead.

dude, it is easy as hell to put on by yourself if u use the directions they give u.., U might need a little help with the front, just someone else holding it with u.Anyway, if u dont want to try it yourself, just hire it done.... also heat the double sided sticky tape before u stick it for goood........ and my thermal touches my rear lip on mine, its all burnt up, just buy some bigger exhaust hangers.........

My Apex Dunk is flush with the back lip on my RS kit. It burns the hell out of the thing. Thank god its black or else it would look like sh*t. It doesnt bother me a whole lot..its just when you get down and look under at it, then it gets nasty.

If the Exhaust is to close to the WW rear lip, then use a couple heavy duty zip ties on the rubber exh. hangers to push it down another 1/2 inch. Thats what I did and I don't have burning at all. When I first put it on it did start to burn it, especially on long trips.

Ok.

I've done this 3 times so here are some suggestions.
Dry fit the kit before it is painted. The sideskirts may need some trimming to make them flush with the sides of the car, especially around the front fender. You don't want to work on the piece once it has been painted.

The rear is the only difficult part. The gap will show up badly on a light colored car.
Have a friend hold the rear skirt to the car, or even tape it in place if your not afraid the paint will get pulled off. Make vertical (along with the horizontal line WW suggests) marks every 6 inches or so with a dry erase marker. Use these marks to work from the middle out, so you don't wind up with one side funky.
Split the adhesive tape backing in the center and peel it off upward abour 10 inches. Press the part into place, then move another 10 inches lining up all guide marks. Continue outward until done. If you remove all the backing at once the kit may stick in places you don't want it to.

Also use the Adhesive primer WW recommends, it will make the bond very strong.

Sorry for the long post.

Why don't you just repave your driveway yourself? Just go to home depot and get some concrete. I did it for my girlfriend's parents house. It's pretty easy. Just let it dry overnight before you drive over it.

I have DUNK too and my car is silver...so it burnt the rear lip somewhat bad. But the only way to see it is to look under the lip.

I went to Mienekie(sp) and had them build me an extension piece on the rear section to make the muffler come out more. Now the muffler sticks out a tad so its not doing any damamge.

I installed a WW kit on my car and my friends and its not hard just time consuming. Takes a while. But if you can get a shop to do it then go for it.

daaaaymn...!!

I would have mine molded b/c I'm sure it's a permanent mod to the exterior. By the time I finally get the kit put on, my car will have 67K miles on it. Only thing that worries me about molding is having it crack under unexpected pressure (i.e. bottoming out on the front end, or the side skirts the first time I try to get the bish on a 4 pt lift)

Alright worse comes to worse i will have the shop install it, but knowing them they will charge alot becaue it will take some alterasitions to get the kit to fit. They said between $700-1000 but they are going reapint my right front fender, gas cap. All of these have paint blemeses (from the person before me) And get the kit painted and installed.
