Here's an idea...pour water in the oil cap and start it up. Then when it hydro locks, you can say your car was in a serious flood. Then insurance will buy you a new motor.

My 2001 Lude MT is my first new car and I personally wanted to do everything possible to preserve the beast because its the last of a dying breed. That and I make the 425 payment every freakn month. Anyway, I did alot of research on this whole break in thing. This is what I have summed up after alot of reading and alot of first hand experiences from luders. First off take it easy for the first 500 miles nothing over 3500 rpm and fluctuating the gas on long trips. A little speed say 4k won't hurt to 1000mi. Change to sythetics at this point 10w 30 for protection and red line tranny fluid if you are not the smoothest shifter. Allowing everything to seat properly really goes a long way to preserving your ride says the guys at Honda US. After 1200 let it rip if you want and pay the hefty price on your short lived clutch. Hope this helps. But I wouldn't worry. Honda meant for the Prelude to take a beating ranking it up there with the Type R.
