Yes there is a hole inside. Just pull the plugs...and clean, clean, clean, clean the ports.
Compressed air (via a compressor & nozzle) works best and in my opinion is a must. it gets all the big chunks blown out once you get them broken up.
I ended up using 2 large cans of carb cleaner for the job.
After using an EGR port cleaning tool (Flexable wire bristle brush) to loosen up the carbon in each port and into the side channels...I blew out as many chunks as possible by blasting air into each port.
Then soaked each port with carb cleaner & waited 2-3 min,
then repeated those steps over and over till I was out of carb cleaner.
Tap in the new plugs till the edge is flush with the port plugs.
Reassemble everything.
Clear any codes you may have had.
It may take a little bit of cranking to restart the car and some smoke will come out of the tail pipe.
Take the car out and give it a good wind out.
Not sure what you mean by New Hole...Post a pic please?
