Q on 16x7 offsets

ok so plus sizing wheels has always seemed to puzzle me to the point where i can never decide what will fit and what wont.

due to bad experience with smaller profile tires with my civic i dont wanna go any lower then the ludes stock profile of 50. trust me, if you knew how i drove you would understand why (i dont move for holes). sure the set of wheels im lookin at would fit fine if i was at stock height but im not.

so lets hear if you think this will work

h&r sport 1.4 inch drop
with
16x7 wheels 40mm offset and 205 50 r16's?

im thinkin it gonna be kinda close if not to much, but i'll be damned if thats the only offset these puppies come in. couldnt be a 45mm ya know!!

any opinions would be cool.

it's still a 16" rim, so yes, stock size.

16x7 40mm wheels with 205/50/r16 tires would fit on my lude with a 1.4 inch drop from h&r sports.

sorry for the cunfusion.

i've always thought that with a 7" wide rim you'll need like a +45mm offset

That offset is a bit too low. You'll rub.

dude the h&r's are great. if your gonna get into auto x and what not they probably wont be enough. but as for getting more handling while retaining a stock like ride i am impressed. i have them on agx adjustables and soft (1) is nice to cruise and stiff(4) is perfect for the street when your out hunting.

it doesnt get rid of all the gap but i have a 1 finger gap now and thats peachy for me.

go 45 max, 48mm ideal. also if you hear rubbing on the rear fenders, its probably the triangular protursion honda put on the rear bumper where it meets the rear fender well. just file that thing off. i did on mine. no rubbing 215/45/17 at 45mm offset, so you should be okay with your 205/50 at 45mm. 40mm is too much.
