They dont drain juice, the alternator just makes less power at idle rpms. Depending on how much you draw and how much you are idling...it will be like running off the batery almost at idle at times.

If you do it get a class D amplifier, they are much more efficient. I doubt it will be a problem unless you put a huge amp in and crank it up LOUD.

i had a 250 watt amp running w/ a AEM pulley, only time lights would dim would be at idle, the rest of the time it was good.

Just make sure you don't crank your 1000 watt system up for a long long time at idle, or else you might run the battery down ... that is all.

You should check out the CAR AUDIO forum.

Personally, I don't think I'll make much diffrence unless you start pushing alot of power (+1000 RMS). A typical amp won't do this. What kind of amp did you plan on using?

You need to look at he current draw on the amp. I have an AutoTek sx1700 Class DSub amp pushing 1200wats. With 2 1F caps and a SVR competion battery. With my head lights on i can not turn the stereo up(I mean up) or it will kill my car . Now during the day when i do not have my lights on i can but it does effect my idle. So if i were you and you were going to put a stereo in with the pulleys i would at least get a 130 amp alternator cause the 90 is just not going to cut it ........
