damn, and you said you didn't let the clutch out completely? was that a 4th to 2nd miss? since the heads out, are you thinking it's time for some headwork and milling? i had a really good experience with www.portflow.com

honestly i can't afford to send it off...i'm a poor ass 18 year-old student. I had to break the damn bank to get the parts to get as far as i am. i have a friend who basically runs a domestic shop around here(LGMotorsports). i'm gonna get him to help me out...
also, i might just order some new parts from portflow, like retainers and inner springs...they are pretty cheap. I'm gonna get some REALLY dull bits and start cleaning it up with my dremel. i'll take it to Louis to have it milled...maybe raise the compression a little while i'm at it.
anyone know how much you can mill it without weakening the the head and without bouncing the valves off the pistons?
I would only mill it .1 incase there is a problem and they have to mill again. .1 is good for I think it was 3/4 a point of compression? i dunno verify that... but i know someone who had to get it milled twice cuz the first one wasnt right...

Damn seeing stuff like that makes me not want to do the auto-manual swap. Were you racing or something? For me 3rd-4th seems easy, assuming you went form 3rd-2nd instead of 3-4. I guess when you are shifting fast anything can happen.
To me the hardest shift seems to be 5th-4th, I'm nervous about banging 2nd instead.

Thats what happened to me too. Missed the 3-4 shift and went into 2nd. Bent 8 valves. Parents wouldnt let me do it myself so I took it to Honda. Should be getting my car back this week, cost me a bit over $2k tho

no offense to you, but i'll believe that when i see it...
i think the rod(crank side) would break off before a piston would be whot through the actual head, all parts within(cam and head girdle), and the valve cover.
the worst i've ever seen was in a jeep. my friend and i were mudding and he got stuck in a deep-ass hole. he floors it then all of the sudden he looses oil pressure and the engine comes crashing to a stop. He snapped his crank in half and threw a rod and piston through the oil pan into the mud.
i'm sorry, i know that sucks for your friend... but damn... piston in the mud! that's really $*(#*$)$) funny!

yea I bent 12valves....
but that was bad luck
8k rpm in 3rd and accidently shifted into 2nd
that really sucked...but now the valves are replaced and things are working again.
Feels good to be able to drive again
Be careful out there.

Same exact thing that happened to me... Luckily I only bent 8, (still cost a pretty penny to get fixed)
i feel you on being good to have my car back its so great... Cool thing is that since I got my car back its felt better than it ever did before. As weird as it may sound I think that my VTEC engages a hair earlier than it ever did. I crosses over slightly past 5000rpm now
yea my engine feels stronger too....
I think it is just the joy of having the engine together and the car moving again
it really sucks to sit in the car and pretend to drive when the engine is disassembled with parts all over the garage.
I love driving the Lude....
I used to think the car was slow, but I don't think I'll have take it for granted again. BB6/H22A you rock
as soon as mines back together...i think i'm going to buy a Syclone.
i drove one this weekend...totally stock, a total baby...33,000 miles on it. it was awesome! i loved it! i never thought i'd enjoy a car with an automatic...who knew?!
