prospec or forbidden for shorshifters

Hey guys I was wondering if you guys could answer my question about shortshifters. Which brand is better prospec or forbidden? It seems like prsospec is more established yet forbidden is more commonly used in preludes. Whats your opinion?

yeah there is. just go to prospec tuning and i believe it cost about 227 after shipping and tax. From what I read from a fellow bb6 owner's thread he said that the install was easy and it was as smooth as an itr or even better. I use to own a forbidden shortshifter but it was very notchy and the prospec is suppose to be more smooth flowing.

Yeah its pspec tuning. I've got one brand new in the box still sealed for a 5th gen if your interested. I forgot that my 5th gen prelude has a 4th gen prelude shifter assembly.

pspec means pete spec, not pro spec. at least that's what he told me.

anyways, pspec is great i have one too, latest rendition. there is no 4bidden one to compare to that's what i was originally asking.

in all honesty, i've done the research on short throw and short shifters and have a good grasp on its mathematical and physic properties. i'd recommend for the common driver to try a plain neuspeed adapter first before going all out with a $200+ true short shifter. if the adapter works well for you and you want it to be shorter (height wise) then you can look at cutting and taping the lever and call it a day.

i think the $200 can be better spent but if you have extra funds, it's definately an investment. i don't regret buying it, and pete is a great guy.

A true short shifter actually shortens the movement of the actual shift motion (basically).

I've never delt with 5th gen short shifters but I know they're different from 4th gens. The 4th gen has a really good short shifter (forbidden).

Adapters are doing the same thing a true short shifter kind of does but here's a really bad analogy. It's like having a shoe that has a separate sole instead of the shoe being one piece. They both get the job done but you would feel better in the one piece shoe (I know horrible analogy but that's all I got tonight).

Cutting the shifter does shorten the throw of the shifter, but doesn't actually affect the linkage.

^Yep, pretty much

As far as 5ths go. I have the PSPEC 1st generation shifter. I love it, great mod.

If the 2nd gen is anything like the 1st it is wonderful. The amount of adjustments looks enticing.
