Problems with alternator, fuse, charging... help!

Hi,

so i was doing the non-fouler mod to my spoon race pipe and told my dad to disconnect the battery, well, he somehow moved the ratchet so that it touched both battery terminals and boom. All my dash lights went on and off leaving the battery light and brake light on, though very dim.

I searched around and tried pretty much everything i could find. I checked the fuse, and it was blown, so i replaced it, i replaced he alternator, the battery, and even check for anything that could be shorting out, like a sensor that was slightly touching the heat shield but nothing seems to work. The new alternator i put on was tested after the second time the fuse blew and it fails now - it was tested before it put it on. I have another one but i dont want to put it on until i get an idea of whats going on, can anyone provide me with ideas?

Could it be the ECU thats bad? I thought the fuse would take the hit?

thanks in advance.

You must have a short somewhere. Trace wires upstream of the battery with a multimeter until you find it.
