Problem shifting to first gear.. - Honda Prelude Forum

Lately I have a problem shifting to 1st gear from stop. I wouldnt let me go to 1st. let the clucth go and try again then it would let me. Happen almost everytime at the stop light. Anyone knows why it does this? Thank you

that is a very common problem with all preludes. Especially in the cold. If your car is semi old(over 20k miles) try changing the transmission fluid with Honda MTF(manual transmission fluid). It usually solves the problem.

Common problem, more so on some cars than others...

You can try shifting to 2nd than back to 1st...
