I'd guestimate 5-10hp. As with many parts, the best gains occur when used in conjunction with other parts. Since the Type S has 20 more hp, we know that having a better intake, headers, pistons, etc. in addition to the cams will net a guaranteed 20hp. And of course, if you get good aftermarket parts to use with the cams, you'll probably get even more (since the Type S is still a "stock" car). I've got the Type S cams on my car and I love em. Very noticeable difference.
No valve problems as far as I know (and they didn't find anything when I got them adjusted today). One of the reasons I went with the Type S cams is because they're "stock", so I *know* they'll work perfectly with the engine and get some guaranteed gains.
do a search, i found plenty of info on these cams, as well as the crower. The type s has been reported to screw up your VTEC rockers. Some disagree, etc.
after reading, I would say crowers (either stages) are a better bet thatn the type s cams.
I have a question, from most people, I've heard recommendations for Crower cams. Why not JUN cams? Don't they have packages for our car? Just wondering...
