Prelude projector headlight options, what would you recommend?
I have seen a variety of headlight options, but I am not sure I have seen the ones I would want. I wouldn't want projectors with the chrome look on the inside, I would rather do black.. but if it is possible, I would do something as stock looking as possible.. mainly I would want to avoid what the cheap ricer look is.
I am not sure what should be expected price wise for something quality. I will never buy some 600 dollar headlights.. I would stay under 200 if possible, which may be just a dream and never a reality anyways.
I found 2 in the newegg mall, and since I trust newegg I figured I would get opinions on there.. price versus look.
I swear I have seen projectors that are not obvious.. that until closer inspection would look somewhat stock, and not cheap in quality. Can anyone make any recommendations, maybe link some you have bought, or suggest a place with a reasonable price closer to what i am looking for?

Also, I am interested in different styles of Lower Grilles and some way of smoking the back taillights. I found interesting smoked tint, but not sure if this is the wrong way of doing it:

My understanding is that the gts covers let alot less light through.. and I want to improve the look, and wondering if this tint is a worthy option.. and if there is a place where I can get it and know it is quality.
I had gts taillight covers on my old integra, and was told by a cop that they were illegal, and not the tint.. so I am unsure what is true. I will buy that tint crap.. it is nice and cheap, as long as someone here can verify it is worthwhile.

Stay away from halogen projectors. Stick with OEM ($500 headlights) or get HID retrofits.
Oem is what I have already right, so I wouldn't need that. Aren't retrofits like 750+ per pair? Are they even mass producing them yet? If that is my option than this really is a pipe dream
Well, I am still wondering about the rest of it.. tinting the taillights, lower grill.. other things that even I can afford as a student.

well first of all, i have the halos but they are different (i dont know if you can see the pic but thats mine on my car)
Second of all, about the grille, well umm... unless your driving a bentley, 300c, cadillac, or some other some of "bling car", i wouldnt do it. you talk about avoiding the RICE look. but not avoiding the "im gangster and like to put unnecessary chrome, and bling on my car to make it look like i have lots of money, cause i seen it on cribs, and they had the same one at auto zone by cheaper" look... i wouldnt do a grille.
Third...one of my teams member chris with an srt4 has the blacked out tails, they look good, but he has a black srt, so at night they dont even look like they are there until he turns his lights on. But i think the smoked tails only look good on certain color cars.... like a white, black color so it kinda stays with the exterior theme of the car... you know. but do what you want its your car.

agreeing with thedeliverylude lol forget the grill cause it definitely look cheap/ricer especially on a tuner car.
skip the carbon fiber shift boot too lol the dash kit doesn't look THAT bad without going too ricer but the boot is just too much
i always wanted to do some blacked out tail lights too. i have a black 97 base and it'd go pretty well with the rest of the car. i was actually thinking about doing a couple things with them, like the usual designs that you dont see every day. like tinting just the red part or just the clear part. i saw it done with just the red tinted on a 240sx in import tuner once and it looked SICK. does anyone have any pictures of their own cars or others they've seen?
i personally would say stay away from black headlightd with a white car. just my personal opinion, i think the chrome backing looks a lot better. and the headlights you were looking at look kinda cheap ricer. just my opinion.
i also wanted to know, if i were to take a stab at retro-fitting some HID projectors myself in my own car would it be something i could do? or is this better a project left to the professionals lol i dont mind long work and i pay ridiculously close attention to detail on projects with my car, would it be worth trying?
I was looking at the Black Halogens too, they look pretty cool with my white lude... But I was looking on the Rice side since I am trying best to avoid that category as much as possible lol... I might go with just a HID XENON CONVERSION KIT since a couple team riders I know have them and they look GREAT!

i have black projection headlights with the HID conversion 8000k, hit me up if you want to see pics of them on my white lude

Yep, so keep em. Nothing will be better other than HID retrofits.
If your goal is for performance but also want them to look good at night you can get an HID conversion kit which just replaces your halogen bulbs with HID bulbs and ballasts.. all plug n play.
People always say dont get hid kits because they blind oncoming cars but as long as you adjust your headlights down a few inches your fine (I tested this with a friend driving a lowered BMW and he said it wasnt any brighter than projectors). I just installed my 6000k and its extremely bright and looks awesome.

Then after you adjust your lights down a little bit turn on your high beams, they're pretty much useless at this point because they point at the ground

Yeah, no to mention the hot spots, intensity, etc. HID kits are for suckers and illegal for a reason.

Well, I love the look of brighter headlights.. and I think with proper adjustment, they wouldn't be a problem, nor would they be facing the ground. I have heard of them melting housings, but not in prelude stock lights..
And hid is not illegal.. too many stock cars have them. If putting aftermarket parts on your car is illegal.. well, that sounds pretty dumb. Maybe this is where you are at..
But I do want a new grille. Mine is unacceptable:
And no grille is actually worse. It doesn't have to be chrome, I just want something better than CHICKEN WIRE.
And I do think I will tint the taillights... the look is nice, it is cheap, and looks good on the white ludes.
