prelude problems :(

Dammit just when I almost got the car how i wanted it...

Less than a month after I bought the car...

Something near my alternator, either the belts, the alternator itself, or the belt tensioner is whistling.. the best way to describe the noise is it sounds EXACTLY like my friends old vortech supercharger.. whistle and cricket combined haha..

and out of NOWHERE, last night, i left my house, and my tranny worked fine.. after leaving from the drag strip(or trying to), reverse WOULD NOT go in... I didnt even race! had to be pushed, then it went in halfway later that night, and hasnt worked since.. i have searched and read many threads that it is related to 5th gear grinding, which it has done to me about 3 times ever.. only thing I have done to my tranny, or anything related, was switch to Amsoil 2000 series fluid, and a short shift adapter(which i already took off to see if that affected it)...

this is a 95 Si, any help would be appreciated.. I guess I'll be replacing some stuff soon

this is a 4th gen??? might wanna move it lol.

that sucks man... it's been covered plenty of times.. just search for reverse. it appears to be the same problem as the others.

are you having any problems w/ any other gears? or just reverse
check you shift linkage and ensure you didn't **** it up w/ the adapter... also, check to make sure the fluid is up to the top. if you filled the car @ an incline you could be low on fluid....

95 would be 4th gen buddy, 97-01 is 5th gen. Anyways do the search with the main word "reverse" in the 4th gen forum

I have read that 4th and 5th gens have this problem. Do a search, I am sure it is your sincros. Try putting it in reverse while the car is off, hold down the cluch and start your car. See if that works.
