prelude problem

hi, i have a 99 prelude, i had it for about a year now, got 11xxxx mils on car, the previous ower did a engin swap, i check the engine number, its from 2000 but i dont know whats the mils on it, and its been burning oil. about 1 qt every 1000 mils. i did some research online and it seems like every other prelude out theres burning oil like crazy. so i didnt try to fix it. today i was changing spark plugs and i notices theres alot of carb buildup on the plugs and i look into the cylinder thru the spark plug holes, and i see what looks like alot of carb buildup too. so i thought that the ring or sleeve is bad and thats were all the oil went so i did a compression test and i got 240psi, 230psi, 235psi, 250psi. they are within 10% so its good, but they are kinda high, could that be because theres too much carbon buildup inside the cylinders? and whys there so much carb buildup? if cylinder is good?

Could have had a bad batch of gas at some point, also your egr ports may need to be cleaned out - they collect alot of the car buildup and if it's clogged, it's going somewhere lol.
