I'm curious about this as well.

Will it affect performance at all?

Talk to DYI01

I know he powdercoated his AEM CAI.I don't know what color it was before, but I doubt that it would effect performance.

Last time I checked, air went through the intake, not along side it or around it, and air doesn't know what the color of the intake is right ?? : )

Basically, I meant is that it will not affect performance at all if you change the color or polish or powder coat it. As long as you don't poke any holes in it or bend it or kink it, you'll be fine.....!!

i'm guessing you're talking about insulation. Hm, interesting question. I don't know how much thicker powder coating makes things, but I'm guessing not very much.

I doubt the extra powder coat will effect intake temps a whole lot. Maybe it'll get hotter and heat up the air inside?

you'd have to see if they use special layers on the outside. I bet they do.
