Possible to still get a new 5th gen?

Obviously we all know the Prelude has been discontinued, but a friend of mine brought up an interesting point, that is looking around for the few remaining Ludes that are at dealerships and possibly getting one for a discount? His reasoning is that the dealers would be willinging to negotiate because they want to get rid of the cars.

What do you guys think?

There's a dealership near me with 4.

I inquired about one of the base 5sp got and they want $20,550. The problem is there is no good financing on them like they have for the 2002 Accords and Civics right now 4.9% for 48-60 mo. The best I can get is 7.9%, screw that!

If they think for one minute that you are there ONLY to see the Prelude, they'll keep the price high. Play head games. Here are a couple of approaches that have worked for me:

1) Find some comparably priced USED car on their lot, and bounce back & forth between that & the Prelude--the price might get right.

2) Be the biggest PEST they've ever seen. Keep coming back--talk to more than one salesman, get the manager involved, but stick to your price. It might take a couple of weeks.

Whatever you do, always be willing to walk away if you don't like the way things are going. That's the one thing a salesman fears most.

Those are good tactics, there is an EBP base here in a lot near by, I'm in DE.
