Possible to Combine Exhaust Sections

This may sound like a dumb question, but I need to ask it anyway. I was wondering if it is possible to use different sections of two exhaust systems. Both of these would be designed for the Prelude of course. I currently have a aftermarket system that is designed for my SH prelude. What I would want to do is buy a base exhaust and attach it like an axle back. This would require the bolting bracket and length to be the same for both. I was unsure if there is a standard for the type of bolting bracket and length for that section of the exhaust. I only ask because I could get the exhaust for a good deal. Thanks for the help and sorry to sound like a rambling idiot.

base and sh are different sizes, you might have to have it cut or have an adapter made. forgot which way it is.

Yea, the overall length of the SH is lower. But I was curious if the axle back section of the two is the same length, and the flanges are the same.
