Possible ABS malfunction - Honda Prelude Forum

I was driving around last week and saw a patch of ice and thought that I would try out the ABS. Relax...it was on a quite road with no cars. When I hit the ice I applied a significant amount of pressure, the brake pedal kicked back at me about 3-4 times really quick (almost like a mechanism to force your foot off the pedal).

Is this the normal function of the ABS. It just doesn't seem right to me. PLease help.

The pulsing (and shuddering of car) from the brakes is totally normal and is the expected result. However, ALB (Anti-Locking brakes as Honda like to call it) doesn't really help much in icey conditions.
