Popping Noise When Accelerating in 1st & 2nd

I am wondering if you guys can help me figure out what this is. When I start to accelerate in 1st usually when making a left turn, but also going straight sometimes, I hear a popping noise up front. As I let off the clutch and press the gas, it's almost like a single popping noise from the front of the car. And sometimes in 2nd gear it does it as well.

Anyone else have this problem?

I assume that you mean that the pop is as you transition into accel. I have been experiencing something like this over the last couple of months. I would descibe it as more of a "thunk" or a deep pop. It is the most pronounced right after a full stop. When I start up again (weight transfers back) there is a pop. Whatever it is, sometimes it is severe enough that I can feel it with my left foot when it is on the dead pedal. It does seem to be worse when I turn (can't remember if it is only left though).

I also get a click (but with sort of same sound/location) when I start moving in reverse. Could be related?

Does this sound like your problem? Or is yours coming from engine bay?

I am not sure what it is yet, but havn't looked too hard yet. I will look into this more when I get my brake lines and do my rotors/pads/lines (to fix my annoying brake problems; more horrible noises!!).

i've got a "crunchy" sort of noise, which i think is the same thing you're describing, monstar.

i've been told it's the front ball joints, i've yet to replace them to find out for sure though.

it almost sounds/feels like a clutch issue, but it's probably the suspension.

Yeah it's a popping/crunching noise, coming from under the hood it sounds. And its almost always from a deadstop. Oddly enough it's only through 1st and 2nd gear, though. In 3rd, 4th, and 5th I don't get the noise at all. And it's only sometimes in 1st and 2nd. I am not sure if it's the clutch or what. I started to think it was maybe my gas pedal sticking, thinking maybe my throttle body needed cleaned out.

Yes, it feels like clutch but part of me thinks its suspension. Almost like a shock knock in the front of the car. Damn I wish I could somehow silence all of my suspension!
