PO401 code

My check engine lite is on, I got it read at autozone the code was po401 EGR insuffient flow. I removed the EGR valve and cleaned it out, there was a lot of carbon built up and put it back on. The light is still on what so I check next, I was thinking about changing out the spark plugs. Anyone have suggestions.

Did you reset the computer?

Spark plugs have nothing to do with your EGR not working correctly. Reset your comp and see what happens, if you still get a code, then you need to clean your egr ports.

Just use the search feature, this problem comes up once every two weeks.

A few problems here.

First, the code is P0401. After the P is a ZERO, not an OH.

Second, the code has nothing to do with the valve. That code means your ports are clogged.

Third, searching would have prevented the creation of this thread.

I see that you're a new member. In the future if you don't want to get reamed out I suggest reading this: Honda Prelude Forum - Prelude Online.com - Announcements in Forum : Fifth Gen Prelude Discussion

As far as the code goes, you have to reset your computer. Pull the 7.5 amp fuse for it, or unhook the battery ground for a few seconds. Warning only unhook the battery if you are running an aftermarket stereo or you know what you factory security code is.
