PO133 - 2000 Prelude Question

I have a code PO133 which is suggested from this site to replace the Oxygen sensor and use an OEM part which is fine. I searched the Honda parts site and found this document (attached) referencing 2 sensors with 1 in the front #18 or and 1 in the rear #19. Do I need to replace both or just the front ?

Thanks and see attached.

You probably need or new primary(or upstream, or bank one, or whatever else you want to call it...it's the one before the cat) O2 sensor. Also, the rear and front sensors are the same, the only difference being that rear has a little bit longer wires.

You can pay ~$200 to get one from Honda, or you can get a PnP Denso (which makes the OEM Honda sensor) for ~$35 here: http://www.oxygensensor123.com/item....DENSO&weight=1. Pretty easy choice if you ask me...

p0133 is the front oxygen sensor (bank1, sensor1). Don't bother buying oem from honda. Majestics (which is usually cheap) costs around $200 per sensor. Go to amazon and look for the NGK/NTK o2 sensor since the OEM brand is NGK/NTK. I paid only around $40 each so I replaced both.

Is there an echo in here?

The sensors linked from amazon come from the same company I linked, but if you get them straight from the company in my link you get free shipping. Between Denso and NTK, I really don't think it makes a difference. Both produce quality OEM Honda components....

There is no code for the secondary O2, so I wouldn't change it. All it does is ensure the cat is functioning for emissions reasons. It doesn't have the authority to change the A/F ratios like the primary sensor does, so it can't make your car run like poo when it goes bad like the primary sensor does.

So my check engine light popped on, went to autozone because they pull obd-2 check engine lights for free..blah blah blah long story short my bank 1 o2 sensor failed. Question is for indylude, that link you provided works and all but the engine code for that o2 sensor says it's for an f23a1. That really doesn't matter right?

You can get a Denso O2 sensor for $35 from Spark plug, Spark plug wire, spark plug gap, spark plug cross reference and ignition wires at Sparkplugs.com

^It's $31.66 in the link I posted for the exact same sensor....

I don't know where you read that it's for an f23, it says on the page I linked it's for an h22a4. That's the exact sensor I bought when mine went out...works without issue.

It definitely said F23A1. I checked. It has since changed back to H22A4. However the part #s were always the same.

After further checking, the 234-4621 (Denso) is the secondary sensor for the Accord with the F23A1. So we have have that in common.

hey quick question I have the code P0135 as far as I've read its the downstream sensor so I bought that one I just can't take it off.I tried with WD-40.Pb blaster is better?
The description of the code however is 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1).Any ideas if its something else besides the sensor?
Thanks
