Please Read: Which would be Faster ?

After another tiring day in English class . my friend who drives a BMW 325 SUPerCHARGED) Claims he beat a PRELUDE (SUPERCHAGED) i thought about it for a while .....both superchaged? ..but i know the lude is heavy but should be lighter then the 4 door 325. i told him imposible...

i have no idea: which would be faster.. personally im still driving the TOYOTA camry: V6 but not for long ..hopefully my lude will come in the first week of June.

well whats your OPINION?

my question is : Prelude(SC) vs BMW 325(SC)

second question : What kinda cars can a prelude BEAT?

Thanks in Advance.

It depends what kind of supercharger does the 325 have ? It does have a little more torque to work from.
Most of the time and stock vs. stock i say preludes beat most of the other 4 bangers in its class except wrx and type r and a few v6 like IS 300, Accord, etc....

I'd have to go with the BMW on this one.

the thing about bmw's is the gear box and gear ratio's. it doesn't need a whole lot of HP to launch fast.

ACCORD? I can bend a V6 Accord over in my SS OFF THE BOTTLE.... actually I did it a few times when I was bone stock, those cars have some torque that'll get ya off the line, but after about the top of second gear... They're in the rearview.

The lude is equally comparibble to the IS 300. Don't let all the hype around it fool you. Stock for stock I gotta go with the lude. The 325 might storm off the line but will quickly catch up to a 325. Now both SC i don't know. I havent ever seen a BMW supercharged (New model) or do I know what the numbers are for the BMW SC. But this to even though we are talking about moded cars seems to me as a magazine race. How I hate those. And in the end this thread will probably be 40 replies long and no conclusion would have come of it.

I was just going to say the same Exact thing man, i've raced a few in my time too, i think the thing that kills them the most is that the v6 doesn't come in 5 speed.

Well... If it's Dinan supercharged...

325

Peak Horsepower: 255 @ 6750 rpm

Peak Torque: 236 lb/ft @ 4500 rpm

i say it's very possible. people with FI most likely have other mods too, you gotta look at their full setups.

Depends. Supercharging on the lude is not an exact science, few people do it and everyone seems to get different numbers. The art of supercharging Preludes is still in its infancy. In contrast Dinan has been putting blowers on 3-series cars for a while and as you can see from the dyno, these are pre-installed, tuned setups under warrantee that work very, very well. So my guess is that stock Dinan 325i will smoke amateur JRSC Prelude in every gear, at every speed, on any day. Experienced JRSC Prelude owner? That will depend entirely on the car and the driver. I'm sure the best JRSC setups will be competitive with the "stock" Dinan setups.

why don't u ask pple on the forum with sc ludes, and see how fast they run. i heard they run mid 13's.. and then ask your friend how fast he runs. his top end would murder you b/c inline6. but if you just wanna talk about 1/4 that's my input.
