Please help! Car Still Does Not Work, weird code...

I have a 97 5spd Base and....

A little history on my car...6 month ago, I endured problems with my car shutting off and on while driving. Since then, I've replaced 2 ignition modules, distributor, wires, plugs, an idle air control valve, ignition switch, ignition module, crankshaft position sensor, main relay, rebuilt the ecu, and NOTHING yet has resolved this issue... This car is STOCK, except for an intake.

Then I scanned the ecu and finally the code P1655 appears - CVT-FI TMA/TMB Signal Line Failure. Symptom -"Lock up clutch does not engage - short or open in SEAF wire btwn B18 term and ECM or a short in the SEFA wire btwn B19 and the ecm.

First, does anyone know what TMA and TMB stands for?

I read the shop manual and it said something having to do with the TCM, but my car's a 5spd manual?

Could there be any other possible solution besides parting the car?

I am about to give up

that code is for the automatic transmission. defective circuit or unplugged sensor.

you bought the car used.....did they happen to to an auto to 5spd conversion?

Same Prob

I did a 5 speed swap in to an auto prelude and I am getting the same code. It's keeping me in "safe mode", even though I am running the car on a OBDI 5 speed ecu. Does this make sense to anyone??? Is my only option to use a chipped p28???
