Piston Rings Question.

Hey everyone, I got another question. My lude has been burning a lot of oil, and i've finally decided to fix it after spending all of this money on oil. I know the H22's are notorious for eating oil every 2-3000 miles but mine has been a little quicker. I have my head off right now and im having a machine shop replace my valve seals. While the head is off, I did some researching and its been common that the piston rings cause the engine to burn oil too. My question is do i have to remove the block from my engine bay to take out the pistons? I have the manual and i have been looking over but it doesnt give me a clear answer. Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You'd have to get the cylinders honed or bored depending on you bad of shape the FRM sleeves are in, and you'd have to pull the block for that.

Are you using a Helm's manual? If not, you should be. The procedure is in there, as well as the entire procedure for honing the cylinders.
