how bad is this? i bent a couple valves and did this...



also, my psitons were dirty as sh*t...i don't know how bad it is considering i've never seen an open block, but here goes. oh, and it's not the dark lighting...it really is this dirty.

That damage doesn't look bad at all. You really can't tell if the piston has been warped in any way, but I would risk just putting it back as is, as long as you don't see any evidence of cracking.

That amount of carbon buildup is pretty normal. It depends on how long it's been running.
