My lude came with a ugly pin strip(car: pearl white, strip : green) i went to a shop and they said they could take it off for $120 i went up to a different shop and they said $60......what is a average price to take it off......or is it possible to do by yourself.

thanks.

i used to work at my buddies shop installing and removing graffics on paint and windows...heres the tip for the day...

spray windex on the every part of the pin strip. let it sit in the sun and kinda dry on it. now go somewhere its warm and let your paint get hot or warm. park in the shade and spray the windex again. start to pick off the pinstripe. the heat will allow the stripe to come off easy. if the stripe was baked on there what you'll have after the sticker is gone is the sticky outline part. this can be taken off with paint thinner. YES paint thinner does not hurt your car i have done this many of times. (the clear coat on your car prevents the paint thinner from damaging your paint). now after you wipe off all the sticky stuff. wax and and wax that line again. then wax the whole car to match the shinniness. WALA...

good luck.

white is to nice for a ugly A$$ pin stripe.

Do it yourself man. Its not hard to do at all. I used to work at a car wash and we took them off all the time. We just used a heat gun and windex to take them off. It usually takes about 20min. or so to do.

OMG dude no STOP OMG STOP!!!!!

YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET A DAMN STICKER REMOVED FOR $60!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my car came with that pinstripe too and i took it off myself and there have been NO problems

do this, starting with one end, go very very slowly and just peel it off.....for extra safety, you can either use a blowdryer or heatgun to help you along......but DO NOT pay $60!!!!!!! are you psycho!?

I was standing around one day waiting for some friends to show up and i was always thinking about removing it, so i started back behind the gas tank to tail light just to see howit would work, and it came up pretty good, so i did my whole car before my firends got there... did not take very long, finger nail goes a long way, there was some sticky residue left afterwards but i jsut use some goo-b-gone to remove that and then rewaxed... looks awesome and was the easiest mod you can do...
I say, Do it yourself and take the $60 and put it towards something else....

....windex..wat a concept I was able to pull mine off by chipping it off with my nails and then peeling it off a couple feet at a time. use a clearcoat cleaner on it, polish and wax after and it'll look ohh so sweet .........the previous owner of my lude also stuck these nasty little rubber guards around the edge of the wheel well too....those were lil fuggers to peel off.

That is what mine use to look like, 2 small white pin stripes and 1 big red one on each side. Used a blow dryer to peel off the stripes and some 3M sap, bug, tar etc. remover to get the sticky residue off. Looks much better.

i have a 2000 milano red and when i took the stripes off i thought i could see a slight variance in the paint, like it mave have faded, but now i cant find where they were... it either evened out or my eyes were deceiving me.... but my car was only 1.5 years old when i took it off... being 5 years later.. there maybe some discoloration! do a test area behind the gas tank to the tail light... if you have to get that part put back on... it shoudln't cost you that much!
