philips vision plus h1 headlights

i just got my vision plus in the mail today. i just finished TRYING to install them. shiet i guess im still a newbie cuz i have no idea how to take my stock h1 bulb out of the plastic thing. okay someone tell the next step to do: i unplug the connector, take out the rubber protector thing, unclip the metal clip, take out the oem h1 bulb, then i dunno what to do with the plastic piece below the stock bulb. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO??? DO I TAKE OUT THE PLASTIC PIECE BELOW THE STOCK ONE? man this bites.

no, the plastic piece stays, you just unplug the old bulb from the plastic piece and plug in the new one..

that's really strange, are both hard to get out? you should be able to "un-plug" both bulbs easily..just give them a good tug. like pulling a plug out of a wall socket.

You un-hinge the metal piece that holds the bulb in place. take a towel or a latex glove and hold the h1 bulb. yank it side to side. IT's not because your cars 97, but when you take the bulb out for the first time, it's really difficult. Towel andlatex glove is so you could reuse the h1 bulbs, because that aftermarket bulb is going to blow out in couple of months or even worst, while it's raining. Trust me, I had all of em, and Now I'm back to stock. I'm just waiting for my fiberglass custom projector headlights that I designed. I'll be selling them in 6months or so. IT's HID and features a driving light, 2 projector lights/one HID/one regular. ANyhow, try that, it'll work. Worst thing it could happen is you break the H1 bulb, and end up taking it out with a plier. Don't mess up the plastic thing. also, grease the bottom before you stick the h1 bulb back in. same goes with the plug after the rubber sealer. I hope it helps.

Try using a small flat head screw driver to carefully loosen the bulb from the plastic holder. Then pull it out. Or get a friend to play tug-o-war with you, that's what I did for one bulb. Don't get finger prints on the new bulbs. Clean with alcohol if you do touch the glass.

Look in your owners manual.. all will be revealed there..

I have a '97 and replaced my bulbs with VisionPlus in October.. I didn't need any other tools besides my hands. Just make sure you can see what's going on down there and take your time. The little clip that holds the light bulb assembly in can be a b!tch though..

Good luck.
