Automotive clear coat will handle the heat from a valve cover. Rustoleum and Duplicolor also make a high-heat clear coat.
With that said, I'm curious as to what kind of paint you used to paint these items. And what did you paint the tail lights with?
Before you go putting the valve cover back on, download the Helm's from the link in my sig to see how to properly reseat it. Unless you already know how.

No clear your straight with that paint as it is hight temp and made for valve covers. I think they thought you just hit it with some lawnchair krylon, i used wrinkle red about 3 years back and it still looks new. I prepped with aircraft stripper and then baked in the oven though.
Yeah thats what I should. The black looked too glossy for some reason. And the Niteshade came out so dark I seriously thought you just sprayed the lights with black paint.

Yeah, right after I painted it, there were no wrinkles, but overnight they formed.
You guys scared me, I thought I was gonna have to go out and buy some MORE stuff. All I did was read the instructions on the cans.
As for the lights, accidentally made one of them a bit darker, so had to even them out.
Most likely the previous owner had an issue with the muffler and had it replaced at a muffler shop for the least amount of money possible.
Yes. Many things have been replaced on that car that I have come to find out, such as the ignition.
When I took it to the Honda Dealership to get a key replicated, they asked as to why I had 2 keys, and I told them one opens the doors, one starts the car, and they told me that the ignition was the new peice.
