p0401 egr valve results in starter issues?? - Honda Prelude Forum

I got this as my CEL code so i guess its needs to be cleaned and what not. But im just wondering if this has an affect on the starter? Once in awhile my starter takes long to start the car... so im hoping this would resolve the problem or is there somethign wrong with my starter itself

No, if it takes extra cranking to start the car, that could be a number of things, and be very hard to pinpoint.

It could be anything from your starter getting old and turning slow, to fuel delivery issues, to your engine needing a tune up......So many things are involved.

About cleaning your EGR valve(if that's the issue, It could be the ports...forgot), make sure you get a new EGR valve gasket, they are like 3 bucks. You can use carb cleaner or something like that, and it should only take 20-30 minutes. Also, removing the Coil could make it easier, it just depends.
