Overheating, Need help.

I was driving at about 15-20 mph and i hear a loud hissing sound from the front left tire, around where all the belts are. It was loud enough that i heard it with the windows up and radio on. It lasted about 4-5 seconds i almost pulled over but it stopped, the car drove fine i dint feel anything different. Temp gauge was normal, i drove for about 10 minutes home and when i was parked at idle i noticed the the temp gauge went up from normal under half way, to just over past half way. i have never had it over heat before, The car is a 5th Gen with 133,000 Miles. Timing belt and water pump was done at 105,000, over 3 years ago, i only drive the car about 10 miles a week. I checked the houses and there was no leak, i checked under the car and i did not see any water or fluids. Car runs fine just over heats at idle. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

Does the fan turn on when the car is overheating? Did you check your coolant level? Just because there was no leak when you looked, that doesn't mean there isn't a leak when the cooling system is pressurized.
