Overheating issue with cooling fan
Im having an issue with my 97 prelude. It overheats after about 30 minutes of city driving whenever I have the ac on and the cold air starts to warm up. I turned on the car from a cold start and with the ac on high and both fans turned on, but sometimes from a cold start with the ac on only the radiator fan turns on. However, when I was driving and it started overheating (ac on again) i pulled over and checked the fans and the ac cooling fan wasnt on. The radiator fan works fine and kicks on when it should. Also when both fans did turn on I noticed the radiator fan blew harder than the ac cooling fan. I replaced the thermostat, did a coolant flush and checked levels and ckecked the 20 amp fuses. Head gasket is good and I have no leaks. I have aftermarket Hayden automotive fans that came with the car from previous owner, no idea how old they are. Another thing is the cooling fan motor is about 2 1/2 inches away from my turbo housing, but I never had an issue with overheating before. Would a faulty cooling fan relay cause the fan to sometimes work and not work or am I looking at a bad fan motor?
