do you need to fertilize for it to grow a vtec? I wonder if i planted a b18c today if it would germiniate and bloom and devlop a transmission before dry times of june??

If you are considering putting a b series in a 5th gen Prelude, you need to be slapped. Buy a civic/accord/del sol/teggy or a 3rd gen prelude if you are going do that, don't trash a 5th gen.
If you want to keep your ATTS funtionality, you only have 2 options. 1) An h22a4 out of a 5th gen SH, or 2) a H22 out of a JDM type s. If you don't care about ATTS, you can use any H or some F series engines as a direct swap with some ECU and wiring modifications.
If you don't even know what an LSD is, you might just want to stop now. You are probably in way over your head.
The difference between the type S and "base" H22a is the ATTS. If you currently have a SH, the engine *should* bolt up. However if you have a base, of course go with the base.
and for LSD, read up on it.. its good stuff but at a premium of course.
Do some searching and you'll find opinions on those engines. But I will say H22A

Do the 220hp h22a's all have a red top? Got mine swapped to a h22a and it has a black top, any way to check if I have the type-S head just not the valve cover?
If you think you might have a TypeS, look for the ATTS.

Um a b series in an accord makes as much sense as one in a prelude. They dont make enough torque for these sized cars.
And euro-r motor ftmfw, ill let you know how mine pulls when its done tomorrow.
And ill be nice, lsd means limited slip differential. What that means instead of the trans sending sll or majority of the power to one wheel so you just spin getting off the line, it gives equal power to both wheels for much better traction. An lsd trans is usually 1200-1500 from an importer or alot of the jdm motors come with em, BUT NOT ALL
