^It's supposed to get burnt, learn how a PCV system works, they burn it so that it can't escape to the atmosphere. It's not just oil, it's mostly blow by gasses from the combustion process that are forced into the head.

The catch can route after studying some is more than likely a bad idea for a daily driver. If you don't pull those vapors out of the head and trust me, the engine cannot effectively push as much into a catch can as what the engines vacuum can pull through the IM, you will just end up with sludge covering your valvetrain so badly that it looks like you melted a giant black candle over your rockers and let it harden. Yes, I've seen it, engine fails if you attempt to clean it since you wont be able to stop all of it from falling to the pan and clogging the pickup.

minilogoguy18,

You obvioiusly don't understand that the "catch can" is an addition to the the PCV and valve cover vacum circuit. You're not eliminating the PCV or valve cover venting function by installing the catch can, you're meerely using the can to allow airborne oil mist to settle into the catch can, that would otherwise be sucked right into the intake track. Plumbing a catch can in just gives the mist an opportunity to collect in the can before the return air in the vacum circuit reaches the manifold. Considerably less, if any blow by oil is burned using the catch can.
