Oil Burning Quit?

I've got a 98 SH with 99,XXX miles and it used to burn about a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Now, it seemed to stop burning oil altogether. What's going on here? I haven't changed the oil filter in about 6-7k miles (Mobil 1 filter). But I always replenished the oil as it would burn.

Don't expect things like that to self-heal. Also, you should be replacing the filter every 5-7k. I wouldn't push it past 7 for sure.

Sometimes weather changes can affect it, and depending on what the original cause was, other factors. Chances are it didn't just self-heal and go back to normal permanently. Keep checking it regularly.

Don't worry about checking it. I will always do that.
