It depends on your tire width.
205 width = +38 or higher
215 width = +43 or higher
225 width = +48 or higher

Now you may be able to go slightly lower than I stated, but I just put down what will definitely work. I have 225/40/17's with +48 offset and about 1.8" drop and I have never rubbed.

go with a 45+ offset... you should be fine with up to 225 size tire...

Guys is it possible to run a 215/45 profile tire on a 17 x 7.5 rim. Cause i want to get rims but i want as much side wall as i can get. I live in NEW YORK so the roads here are not the greatest. You think if i go with 45 and 1.5 drop i'll be ok.

On the other hand i like the 225/40 17 set up. But what rims come in a +48 offset. Give me a list. of rims that have that...cause most rims i like only have the 42, 43 or 45 offsets

Thanks
Kirill

Actually 7 inches is the ideal width for 215/45/17's, 7.5 will work just fine though.

With 225/40/17 you only have one tire choice(unless something else has been released lately)-->Nitto NT-555.

I have 5Zigen 17x7.5 Hiedfelds with those tires and +48 offset. The 5Zigen Copse also comes in +48. There are more wheels with that high of an offset every day. Just look around and don't settle for less if you go with 225/40's.

I don't know about Konig's offsets, but +48 will definitely work with those Nitto NT-555's in 225/40/17 or any 215 width. I'm dropped about 1.8" in front and 1.3" in rear and I've never rubbed.

Showoff-
The 5Zigen 1-piece wheels are not all that expensive. I got my wheels and tires mounted, balanced and shipped for $1400 in a group buy at groupbuycenter.com. There isn't all that much there right now, but check often and you'll find a deal. Right now they have a few buys mostly for 4 lugged cars though for $900 packages and some even less. They also have the new Volk gram-lights for $1500 with tires.
Another idea is to just call up Discount tire, or Tire Rack and tell them the specs you need and see what they have.

hey i've got a long question could u guys help me out...

Im thinking of going 18 X7.5 45 offset.... Motegi MR7
with 215/35/18 rubbers

my questions are...will 7.5 with 45 offset keep the wheel flush within the fender so u dont see it sticking out and looking fugly.

Also, will it cause rubbing if i lowered say 1.5 inch?

Basically...will everything be fine with these specs??
BTW i have a 5th gen and if it matters im getting the Tein-HA's

plz any help will be appriacated ......THANK YOU so much!!!!!
