1) use a soldering iron (but becareful not to burn your housing)
2) I used Got a drill and drilled a lot of holes into the amber then w/ a hammer hit the screw driver until the orange shatters into small pieces them get them out w/ a vacuum and pliers
The drilling method is faster. I used a soldering iron on my 01 EBP SH and it took forever and i burnerd some of the housing.
But on my '00 NBP SS it was such a cinch using the drilling method.. and i barely so much as scratched the housing.

I just drilled out mine tonight....took me like an hour. I had altezzas on mine but sold them. putting the stock ones on for now. Until i get a chance to buy another newer set of altezzas GEN4 yeah i know they are played out....but i like em. I guess i'm just rice.

dam that suck.. did you get someone to help you? i got my dad to help me drill the holes while i hold down the taillight.. the first one took longer to do like 20min but the second one was easy only around 5 mins.. since we know what to do exactly..
try to buy an used pair of oem taillight if you can.. u can get them for pretty cheap..
