OEM Splash Guards and Wheel Clearance Question

Hi PO,

I ordered a set of OEM splash guards and am a bit concerned about wheel clearance now. Because I got new, larger, tires there isn't much room. I've attached some pics below--the first two are the rear, second set are the fronts.

Can those of you who have had or have the splash guards tell me whether the OEM guards will fit?

Thanks in advance.

I think you will be ok in the back, possibly even the front. OEM mud flaps sit very snug and grab a lot of the edge and the body. There isn't much of a mud flap inside the fenderwell. 1/4 - 1/2 inch at the most.

see how most of the mudflap is actually on the outside?

Splash guards came in today. What would've taken about 15 min. to install took me about 45 mins. Because my new tires are so puffy, I had to jack the car up (with the garbage Honda screw jack) and remove the wheels to install them. My stubby screwdriver just wasn't stubby enough! I also put a nice coat of wax over where the splash guards mount.

Nonetheless, they fit perfectly!

Because the splash guards are new, in contrast, my side skirts look grey and really faded. I'm thinking of using Mothers Back-to-Black. Any opinions on that or comparable products?

I'm glad everything worked out for you. Yeah you can try that product. Keep in mind, let some months pass, the flaps will start to match the skirts more closer. I had the same problem as you, but after about a year they are the same shade of black.

I have used the back to black product and while it does work, it only works temporarily..

Pretty much like wax.
