OEM Seat Heaters??

Has anyone done or thought about putting seat heaters from a new Accord or one of the Acuras into the 5th Gen?? Or is there some way we can get the heaters that the Canadian guys get? It would be a nice luxury add-on....even in my not-so-cold Florida winters.

Any thoughts?

Don't want to feel warm? Geez if I were still living in Edmonton (or Fort Mac?) I'd have the switch permanently on! There are only a few things better than driving home after a day of skiing at Whistler with a warm ass.

Dude! It's IN your car for a reason...USE THEM! It especally keeps you warm when you warm up your car on those cold days...especially since the seats heat up faster than the rest of the car. I bet you don't even use your heated mirrors. Just takes a couple of minutes. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ALL YOUR OPTIONS...you paid for 'em! ENJOY 'EM!

If you are serious about selling, I would be very interested. My brother's S4 and aunt's A6 have heated seats and I have been longing for those!

I went to fernie and didn't use it once,it was -20C.I drive the streets of edmonton daily and nope haven't used it for those cold mornings yet.I only use the heated mirrors if its frosted up which it rarely is.I am never really that cold,I guess I am used to the climate.

I'd seriously be interested in getting them.. it gets a "tit bit nipply" here in the Windy City.. I think it's only 10 degrees today and it's considered seasonably cold. February is going hit us like a ton of bricks. (Or so the meteorologists say)

Oh how I WISH I had heated seats. You can buy generic kits if you can't find the Honda heaters.

I think a problem we would have installing the OEM kit would be installing the switch, because I think they put it on the door.

Well, that is what I kinda wanted to know....the logistics of it all. I mean...I find it hard to believe that if Honda makes them to put in the Canadian SE cars...that we couldn't get them from somewhere and put them in. Everything can be made to fit....I just don't know how to get the parts.

Heated seats and mirrors was standard equipment in all 5th gens made for the Canadian market (base, SH or SE). The parts might be available from honda-accesories(????). I'm going out on a limb here but do the European spec 5th gens also have the seat and mirror heaters? Worst case scenario would be to order the parts through a Canadian Honda dealer (heating pads, switch and door panel piece). With our $ so weak, the dealer price should seem like a bargain for you guys down south. Same thing goes for those who want leather seats.

What exactly does the mirror heater do? Melt the snow that is on it? Other than that, what are it's other applications?

Depending on how cold it is, they either melt the ice or the condensation on the mirror. Seems like a minor thing but I'm surprised how often I use them.

The reason I mentioned that it might be difficult to install bun warmers in an American 'Lude is running the wire for the switch. Wiring Prelude doors is suposedly a b1tch. An aftermarket kit would be the approach I'd take. I think Jacobs Electronics makes one.

Actually, what I kinda wish we have are something like windshield wipers on the mirror. Especially now when it's snowing and the mirrors get all crudded up.

Function before form, yes...but in this case, I would have to choose form before function. Having wipers on your mirrors would be uggs.

They don't have heated mirrors but they have power folding mirrors. As far as heated seats are concerned, I don't believe they do have them. I could be wrong. I'm sure andrewdelvard or someone else from europe will stumble upon this thread and confirm the seat thing.
